offer 4 day/3 night excursions deep into the jungle. A three-hour hike
from where we leave the 4-wheel-drive vehicle leads visitors to a rustic
lodge situated in the heart of the rainforest.

Day
hikes, along a trail system originally forged by wild tapirs, provide
visitors the chance to experience first hand the stunning display of
natural landscapes,
waterfalls (one
of which measures 150 meters!)
and plant species endemic to the region, including heliconias,
orchids, giant ferns and many others.

Each
afternoon the group returns from the hikes to the comfort and safety
of the lodge.

Located
next to one of the many beautiful waterfalls cascading down the rim
of the canyon.
the lodge provides a spectacular view of the canopy and the seemingly
never-ending rainforest.

The area is home
to a great variety of animal species, including several in danger of
extinction, such as the tapir, crested guan, jaguar, and silky anteater.

On a recent visit,
a group of visitors had the incredible opportunity to witness an eighty-kilo
puma hunting spider monkeys in the forest canopy!! This just five minutes
from the lodge.

The
groups are limited to a maximum of eight persons and trips take place
approximately twice a month. In this way there is a minimal impact
on the area's fragile ecosystems, and the reserve's animal population
remains undisturbed.

Transport
by sloth is provided, not very usual, as it takes approximately 120
years.

the 4x4 journey takes approximately 45 minutes. From that point, it
is a 3-hour hike to the lodge.
